Weddings

As part of our ministry, we perform weddings.  As ministers in a Universalist Church, we will help you develop the ceremony that best meets your spiritual needs in order to make it a truly memorable experience.  We have a Wedding Planning Guide that will assist you in determining the overall style of the wedding ceremony, as well as the fine points.  We also provide two to three Pre-Marital Counseling sessions as recommended by Florida law.  We are certified by the Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court to provide these sessions. We will help you design a beautiful and memorable wedding.

​Universalist Baptisms

When it is time for your baby or child to be baptized, we will help you develop a ceremony that incorporates your spiritual beliefs.  For example, Cate officiated one ceremony in which all the women at the baptism became Fairy Godmothers and bestowed their blessings upon the child.  The parents help us create a beautiful spiritual moment for the child and family that literally lasts a lifetime.

Memorial Services

When your loved one has passed on, we will help you arrange a ceremony that fits your family's spiritual beliefs.  Although this is a time of mourning, we also believe it should be a time to celebrate that person's life and legacy.

Native American Sweat Lodge Prayer Ceremonies

Several of our ministers conduct traditional Lakota and Central and South American Sweat Lodge Prayer and Healing Ceremonies.  These are very powerful.  As one of my mentors, Barrett Eaglebear, once commented about the Sweat Lodge, "Don't worry nothing will change, just everything in your life."
