John R. Lewis In Memoriam: Lightworkers Marching Orders!

July 30, 2020

Today, July 30th, I was so inspired watching John Lewis’ funeral and the eulogies from Presidents Obama, Clinton, and Bush, as well as an old 60s activist, James Lawson, whose speech was a real barnburner. Lawson reminded you of the brilliance and courage of those 60s Civil Rights Activists who faced beatings and death every time they tore down another “Colored Only” sign over a drinking fountain or sat in a restaurant for “Whites Only.” Truly inspirational. I recommend you go online and hear their eulogies.

What this brought home to me more than anything else is that John Lewis always saw the big picture. We are so often caught up in the little soap operas of our daily lives, it is sometimes difficult to remember the bigger, significant things beyond our little bubble. There is a larger world out there. And, because I am sending this out to Lightworkers, I know you have all been called. John Lewis called it the “highest calling of the heart.” You know what you have been called to do. You are the Indigo, Crystal, Star, and Rainbow Children who have come to raise the vibrational energy of the planet into the Love Consciousness.

John Lewis wrote an op-ed on the day of his burial in The New York Times. “When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression, and war.”

Each one of us must rise above our limitations and fears. We came here to be the Peaceful Warriors. Peaceful Warriors require resolve, courage, a strong sense of justice, and a loving heart. We fight for the rights of all people, no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, age, or religion. It is our responsibility and why we came to this little third rock from the sun.

Use your time here wisely. At my age, I realize my days are numbered, and I look back at all the bullshit dramas that sidetracked me from my calling and soul path. I understand that they were lessons I needed to learn, but I also know they often kept me from doing what I came here to do. I have done a lot, but I realize I could have done so much more. When you reach my age, know that you have done what you came here to do.

I cannot tell you how to do it. I can only suggest that you live each day in the truth. Live each day in activism, large or small. If you are a teacher, teach more than math or English or civics. Teach them about life and love. It can be done without preaching. It is through example. The same goes for parents. How many teaching moments are there in a day to communicate love and values? How do you show them what it is to be a good parent and partner? At work, how do you communicate a smile and teamwork? How do you intervene with a racist or sexist comment or joke? These are some of the small things we can do in our daily lives, and they are essential to creating an energy of higher consciousness.

For the bigger picture, make sure your voice is heard. Protest. March. Blog. Podcast. Livestream. Speak out. Organize. Gather. Vote. Be the activist for love, peace, and plenty for all. Those are our marching orders. Lightworkers unite and arise!
